Refreshing the look while respecting the brand

Challenge

Brian Curtner, Principal & Co-founder, Quadrangle: Quadrangle had just completed a major strategic planning exercise. We engaged Hambly & Woolley to design a signature print piece we produce annually, but quickly realized how they could help ensure that the firm’s entire visual approach supported our strategic goals. With our 25th anniversary on the horizon, we then asked them to undertake a full evaluation of our graphic presence and refresh the firm’s visual identity.

Process

H&W: We spent valuable time with Quadrangle’s stakeholders, studying the firm’s brand foundation, points of differentiation and competitive context. Accordingly, it was crucial for consensus building to explore all the options while remaining loyal to the original concept. Honour the past, reflect the present and symbolize the future.

Outcome

Brian Curtner, Principal & Co-founder, Quadrangle: Hambly & Woolley were true partners with us in finding the right visual connection to the evolving story of Quadrangle. We chose a refresh of our mark that was bold, but still connected strongly with our history. There is a new energy at the firm now, fuelled by a visual transition that was truly seamless. Their strength of process, practical advice and strategic thinking were critical to the eventual adoption and success of the new visual identity.
