Challenge:
We wanted to develop a unique look for an industry crowded with labels and brand names. We didn’t want the usual ‘cow in a pasture’ type of image. We were a new kind of dairy. Artisanal. Green. Contemporary. Old-world methodology with new-world marketing. Hambly & Woolley listened, and understood what we were after.

Process:
Petra came to us with a big idea. A former publishing executive with experience in marketing, she wanted to promote her dairy for a full two years before producing any cheese. Our team jumped into the research. Referencing town-naming conventions in early Upper Canada, we came up with the company name, typography and monogram that defined a sophisticated rural look for the urban consumer. And the cheese was well worth the wait!

Outcome:
Fifth Town has grown to $1.5 million in sales in 2 ½ years and H&W has been with us every step of the way. They really do their research, gaining unique insights and making surprising connections that make a huge difference to the end result. They are constructive, reasonable and incredibly skilled in their ability to convey meaning with visuals. More importantly, they take accountability and will always partner with us to find the right solution.
