Donald Ellis GalleryKeeping Time: Plains Indian Ledger Drawings Catalogue

An invaluable chronicle of 19th century life and adaptation by Native American peoples of the Great Plains.

Working with the Donald Ellis Gallery on the Plains Indian Ledger Drawings 1865-1900 was an incredible honour. It is a collection of drawings from the Plains Indian peoples who used accountant’s ledger books to depict narrative events from an Indigenous point of view. We wanted to make sure that the publication highlighted the intricate beauty and storytelling of these unique artworks.
